In Memoriam

Marjorie “Marge” Chapman

Mar 10, 2021

Marge was taken to be with the Lord on March 10, 2021. She always said when your house is ready, the Lord will call you home. All those who went before her will be there to greet her.
Marge was born in St. Edward, Nebraska to William and Beulah Pulver on July 24, 1922. She is proceeded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by two daughters Donna Looney of Chico and Jody (Tom) Wade of Woodland, two grandchildren Laurel (Scott) Weeks and Ed (Carrie) Wade and two great grandchildren Emily and Jacob Wade all of Woodland and many nieces and nephews.
Marge raised five children while working nights so she could do Girl and Boy Scouts and many camping trips with the kids.
In her life she worked many jobs, building aircraft (Rosie the Riveter) built mobile homes, managed apartments, and retirement homes for many years.
She retired in 1990 and moved to Chico. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and Enloe Hospital Volunteers for many years. She was still an active member of the Auxiliary and Enloe volunteers at 98 years old. She started the red heart pillow program at Enloe and to date had made over 8000 of them. Neck pillows for the Cancer Center and small stuffed animals for emergency rooms, doctor’s offices, police, fire and anywhere a small child might be in need of comfort. She also made Christmas booties for the parents to take their newborns home in from Enloe at Christmas.
If you knew Marge and had a problem or a project you could not figure out “Just call Marge” she was everyone’s go to.
She touched many lives in her 98 years all over the country. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
