Leland (Lee) Ashley Tourville
February 5,1937 – November 17, 2021
Leland (Lee) Ashley Tourville of Magalia CA entered into the arms of Jesus on November 17, 2021. We know we will see him again, because there will be a Glad Reunion Day according to the Bible he read and believed.
Formally of Napa CA. he was ushered into eternity after contracting West Nile Virus while fishing. Lee was born February 5,1937 in Martinez CA. He married the love of his life Phyllis Sue Bridgman June 2, 1957.
Lee retired at the age of 55 from Maher and Hess Construction of Vallejo CA as a foreman. Up until the time of his passing he was very active in construction for friends and family. One of his crowning projects was the house he built from foundation up in Hidden Valley Lake CA.
Lee was given an honorable discharge from the Navy. A grateful nation thanks this veteran for his service.
Lee was an active member of Magalia Pines Baptist Church and also a Charter Member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church of Chico and Landmarks first deacon.
Lee was very activity in church, serving Jesus. He played the bass and was a vocal soloist. He was involved or supervised many projects for many churches in California, especially Landmark. He loved wood working and donating his time and money to build many pulpits, altars, music stands and offering plates and Lord’s Supper tables etc. for many churches in California.
If he wasn’t wood working you could find him fishing. As an avid fisherman he was in the boat or by the river side, no matter the time or temperature. Many times he would be in the boat, with ice on the eyes of his fishing pole just waiting for that next big one to bite.
He always was known for his talents of restoring many classic cars. Each one winning numerous awards at countless car shows. It has been said that if it was mechanical, he could fix it.
Lee is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Phyllis (Sue) Tourville of Magalia. His sister Jerlene Norris of Washington. Three Sons and their wives; Scott Tourville of Lincoln CA, Ed Tourville of Reno, NV and Mark Tourville of Hidden Valley Lake CA.
